Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel during shift. Responds to emergency conditions.Operates dialysis machine.Weighs patient, takes vital signs and blood samples.Accesses dialysis port for treatment. Determines clotting times and administers heparin according to a prescribed protocol.Measures and adjusts blood flow rates.Calculates fluid removal (TMP).Monitors patient during treatment. Documents treatment.Observes dialysis equipment for correct functioning during dialysis, responds to alarms and makes appropriate adjustments.Initiates cardiopulmonary resuscitation measures in the event of cardiac and/or pulmonary emergencies.Discontinues dialysis utilizing established procedures.
