Posting Number S14280P Working Title 4-H PROGRAM SPECIALIST Department CAES-Northwest District CES Position Summary Responsible for implementation and program support of 4?H program in Northwest District. Work involves the supervision of tasks necessary in planning, developing, and directing 4?H programs and events and managing foundation and expansion funds. Position involves frequent evening and weekend work and district wide travel. This person works cooperatively with the 4?H Program Development Coordinator (PDC) and District Extension Director (DED). Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Successful experience in program coordination and management Excellent communication skills Leadership experience and management skills Ability to work with limited supervision Possess drivers license and a personal vehicle for official?duty travel Physical Demands Physical activity to conduct programs (pack and move boxes, handle equipment, load and unload vehicles) Travel to events Driving as needed to perform job duties Duties/Responsibilities (25%) Plan, schedule, allocate, and prioritize 4?H workload to meet operating requirements and supervise day?to?day program operations Duties include preparation for district and state 4?H events and on?site 4?H event management with some travel involved; using established electronic and local systems to help manage county registration and enrollment requirements Work with district 4?H youth board of directors, manage correspondence of information and travel arrangements for group Duties/Responsibilities (25%) Assist with 4?H program details including faculty and staff trainings. Includes managing registration and set up such as scheduling facilities, speakers, A/V equipment, webinars, online meetings and coordinating meals when applicable Prepare electronic and printed materials for trainings and events using established office and electronic systems; track county participation and other accountability data; maintain county 4?H program files Conference planner for district events and agent trainings Duties/Responsibilities (20%) Position will manage finances for 4?H Educational Programs, Expansion and DED Foundations Accounts and maintain records in financial spreadsheets Organize and interpret financial data and monetary strategic planning for all 4?H events for the year Provide detailed summary of each event for administrations review. Manage 4?H PDC travel requests and expense account support Responsible for 4?H supplies and inventory Duties/Responsibilities (15%) Support the administrative needs of the 4?H PDC and the district 4?H program Provide technical support for managing district 4?H communications, correspondence to and from staff in county offices Answer incoming calls, emails, fax, etc., relating to any and all 4?H events, programs, materials Duties/Responsibilities (10%) Support on?site management including supervision of adult volunteers and youth Duties/Responsibilities (5%) Coordinate the district officer leadership program Advertised Salary $36,000, Commensurate with Experience Work Schedule 8:00am 5:00pm Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends Contact Details For questions concerning this position or recruitment progression, please refer to the Recruitment Contact listed below.
