DescriptionSchedule: Full-time (36 hours per week), day shift, four days per week, 7:30am-5pm, every 12th weekend rotation This position is responsible for helping the patient feel welcomed to Regional Family Health and maintaining accurate and complete patient accounts based on departmental protocol, policies and procedures, to include but not limited to scheduling, registration, check-out functions and managing incoming calls. Duties include:Promote and maintain excellence in patient serviceFacilitate the smooth flow of patients through timely and effective communication to patients and other RFH team membersGreet patients and visitors and provide courteous, caring and professional assistance to all individuals contacting the officeAnswer the telephone, screen and route all incoming telephone calls to the appropriate staff member or take messages according to office policy and procedureSchedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments according to office procedures.Register patients, correcting as necessary all patient demographic and insurance dataGather, verify and enter demographic information and scan insurance information into the computer on new and established patients necessary for completion of medical record information and insurance claim processing at each patient visitCheck-out patient, collect payments and record transactionRespond to patient's questions regarding their account balance and refer patients to the Billing Department for payment sources for uninsured patients and other billing questionsMaintain cash drawerMaintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines and Rural Health Clinic guidelines. Assist with departmental coverage as requestedProvide relief for Receptionists in satellite clinicsRoute internal and external mail, and other items, appropriately throughout clinic systemPerform other duties as requested by RFH Receptionist Manager to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the officeRequirementsHigh School graduate required, Associates Degree preferredPrevious experience in a medical office preferredStrong communication skillsAbility to work as a team memberAbility to understand and apply guidelines, policies and proceduresSkilled in computer use, communication, and decision makingBLS certification required
