  • Run, monitor, and utilize MRP, Open PO report, Hotlist Report daily and other reports to ensure adequate stocks of inventory are available to meet the production schedule and forecasts.Maximize inventory levels to increase turns and limit obsolescence.
  • Create, send, confirm, manage, and follow up purchase orders (PO) for materials and components.
  • Work with vendors and internal stake holders, cross functional team members to decrease lead times and improve on-time delivery, maintain vendor information within ERP system (i.e., lead times, minimum order quantities and tiers, packaging specs, etc.), adhere to component specifications, and improve overall vendor performance.
  • Oversee inbound logistics for assigned vendors and update MG TMS and ERP with accurate delivery dates.Communicate delays to needed parties in advance.
  • Manage vendor relationships, build Vendor Score Cards to enhance vendor performance.
  • Monitor and maintain department Corrective Action Log documenting supplier issues and resolutions.
  • Research, communicate, and resolve material damage issues.
  • Research, monitor industry trends, and provide material savings opportunities.Coordinate with various departments to realize savings quickly.
  • Work directly with the Purchasing Manager on various reports, projects and tasks as needed.
  • Utilize project management, problem solving and CPI skills and tools to:
    • Assess supply issues and collaborate with other departments to perform problem-solving activities to enhance department and company performance.
    • Identify and drive ideas and projects to continuously improve Procurement and other departments' processes, systems, and practices.
    • Complete projects timely and accurately.
  • Other responsibilities as requested.


Salary Range:$67K - $73K

Education/Experience:
  • 4 Years college level education preferred
  • 3-5 years purchasing/ procurement experience
  • Experience with CPG packaging materials strongly preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or other mid-tier ERP Application preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

The Packaging Buyer II reports directly to the Purchasing Manager
