Description

Position:

Hamadeh Educational Services is seeking a School Nutritionist to join our team You will Manage and oversee all aspects of the wellness and nutrition programs at the Academy consistent with the State, federal, local, HES and district's guidelines, procedures and policies.

Academy Mission:

The Academies mission is to provide their students with a quality education that focuses on a core curriculum and international cultures including the study of language. The academies provide an education of the whole child by integrating different diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds to their college-preparatory program serving families in the Greater Detroit area.

Responsibilities:
  • Plans school-meal menus that meet the USDA nutritional requirements and Michigan Department of Education guidelines
  • Develops programs, workshops, and activities designed to promote health and wellness awareness among the school community
  • Plans alternative menus for students with special needs, collaborating with parents and medical care providers
  • Provides guidance for planning, overseeing preparation, and cooking meals to meet USDA nutritional requirements and the Academy's wellness policy
  • Implements and manages planned nutrition menu in compliance with applicable requirements and regulations
  • Adheres to the sanitation and safety procedures following the Michigan Food Health Code and HACCP guidelines
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned, this list is not all inclusive
Requirements:
  • Must possess a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in the study of Nutrition Science or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of state food health codes
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working in culturally diverse setting
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Flexible open minded, self-driven team member
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
