JOB SUMMARY: Primary responsibility for Medicaid billing and collection, account reconciliations, journal entries, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. related accounts receivable.

JOB DUTIES: Either billing & collection, payroll, resident accounts, or other specific responsibilities.}
  • Preparing and processing of payroll for 250+ team members utilizing Paycom processing software. Ensure all transactions are processed timely and accurately.
  • Assist in managing and reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and process approved journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Help perform variance analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Help monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, identifying areas of concern and proposing solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to the Controller.
  • With guidance, assist in the preparation of tax returns ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Generate and submit monthly invoices and pledge agreements (as needed) to various stakeholders.
  • Submit HAB-Aide reimbursement forms & follow up on submissions for timely payment remittance.
  • Assist with generating and delivering client account statements.
  • Review account receivable billing reports, develop outstanding sales reports, and rebill revenue as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA and Master's degree preferred. 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards (GAAP). Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations and reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills.

ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

LANGUAGE:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, board members, families, stakeholders and the General Public.

MATHEMATICAL:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established policies and procedural guidelines.
