Overview:

The Houseman Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel. This position is responsible for supervising and assisting the housekeeping team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and overall hotel appearance. The Houseman Lead will coordinate tasks, manage inventory, and provide excellent customer service to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Assign daily tasks to housemen and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness and maintenance standards.

2. Housekeeping Duties:

  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining all public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, hallways, and meeting spaces.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure their needs are met.

3. Inventory Management:

  • Manage and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and other housekeeping materials.
  • Order supplies as needed and ensure they are stocked and readily available for the team.
  • Track and report any damages or deficiencies in rooms and public areas.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Train team members on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and safety procedures.

5. Customer Service:

  • Provide excellent customer service to guests, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure a positive guest experience by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
  • Assist with special projects and deep cleaning tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality management is a plus.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a similar role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
