Wausau Window and Wall SystemsPOSITION SUMMARYThe Material Coordinator handles aluminum extrusions and other inventory used in commercial buildings. Individuals in this material handling position work as part of a team to ensure material is received, stored, picked, packed and shipped to clients accurately per schedule. POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate and expedite flow of material, parts and assembliesEvaluate tooling and determine manufacturing requirements, as requiredReview factory orders as requiredFacilitate clear communication among all internal customersDirect the delivery of products from vendorsMay be required to review factory order to optimize fabrication efficiency in manufacturing.Comply with safety, quality, and productivity requirements and proceduresRegular/dependable attendance requiredFlexibility of work hours including overtimeUse of hand tools and machinery is required to maintain equipment and buildingsMust be able to work well with little or no supervisionSort, load, and unload materialUse scanners and barcoding devices as requiredDemonstrate personal leadership within area of responsibilityParticipates in AFS's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvementsAbility to rotate to other positions as neededOther duties may be assignedTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.OTHER REQUIREMENTSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Communicate effectively in a verbal and a written manner.Basic computer proficiency and accuracy for time/labor entry.Ability to work independently or as part of a teamAble to adapt to situations and effectively problem solveWork quickly and accurately.Certified in operating various material handling equipment, forklift and overhead cranesLEVEL OF AUTONOMYWorks independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibility.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection. Must be willing and able to comply with all plant safety regulations including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floorTRAVEL REQUIREMENTSInfrequent travel required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSDistances and Heights:Push/pull cart 20 feet. Cart for materials can range from 15" to 71". Green scrap bin is 48.5", step for machine lift is 21.5"Tools and Equipment UsedPPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), materials cart, scrap bin, rack lift, combi lift, propane tank.AFS is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Affirmative Action Company.
