Our client is a trusted member of a larger team of strategic partners. This contract was just awarded and has the full 10 year contract life remaining. Work is to be performed onsite in Government and Contractor SCIF space in Springfield, VA and Arnold, MO.
Job Description
In this position, the Virtual Desktop Engineer will support the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment. This role will be the SME in troubleshooting all related performance issue across the organization. Additionally, the position will require an individual experienced in system design and integration, identity life-cycle management, and process automation and improvement. We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record designing and maintaining VDI in a large enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who exceeds as an individual, as well as excels among peers in a team environment. The individual should possess a passion for operational excellence and a high level of interpersonal and soft skills. In addition to architecting and designing, the VDI Engineer will provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators in order to resolve VDI issues.
Provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies
Offers endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks on Virtual Desktop related tasks
Maintains an Advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure-related technologies
Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders
Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines
Conducts trade studies and makes recommendations on solutions and "make buy" decisions
Qualifications:
Active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain CI Poly
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience
Desired Core Skills:
Experience providing engineering support for legacy and current versions of Citrix products
Progressive roles from Administrator to Sr. Engineer
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later
Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS)
Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
Citrix Netscaler / ADC / VPX
Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM)
Citrix App Layering
Liquidware Profile Unity
Hyper V, VMWare VDI (Microsoft or Citrix NetScalers / ADCs)
Experience managing and administering Windows Server clustering
Experience with Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
System Center Virtual Machine Manager/Vmware Vcenter 6.7
