Process Engineer

Summary:

At all times adhere to health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures. Responsible for LOTO Maintain a safe and organized workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices (ManEx). Raise 5 why's as defined by agreed trigger points. Work with Operators and team leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift. Fixing problems and finding solutions via RCPS. Participate in line improvement projects, engage in start of shift meetings and performance-based team meetings to raise, and address persistent performance issues. Participates in weekly asset care review meetings. Anticipate issues and be more proactive in approach. Support TL'S & Operators to build asset care and RCPS capability. Attending all Tier 1 and 2 meetings, contribute to the agenda and complete actions as required. Desire to grow career towards Reliability Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to understand new process requirements and objectives and implement changes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Knowledgeable on basic Line Procedures and Centerlines of all production lines
  • Understands Router Instructions.
  • Conducts regular audits of operational processes to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
  • Maintain and make suggestions to improve Quality system, plant objectives, customer satisfaction etc.
  • Perform predictive line checks to assess health of equipment.
  • Identifies deviations from established processes and works with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintains comprehensive audit trial and documentation of changes and improvements.
  • Analyzes audit findings to identify opportunities for process optimization and improvement.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of implemented processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and audit reports.
  • Generates comprehensive reports detailing audit results, recommendations, and improvement actions for management review.
  • Trains and supports teams involved in the implementation of new processes.
  • Acts as the point of contact for answering questions and provides guidance on process related matters.
  • Track trials through their completion.
  • Support and participate in the implementation of company-wide standardization rollout.
  • Coach operators to perform autonomous maintenance tasks as required.
  • Support capital work, including installation, commissioning, and testing within area as required.
  • Support new and current product and equipment qualification process.
  • Attend and contribute to SIC process.
  • Complete short interval control documentation on activities.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Skills:
  • MMS, OPERATIONS, PROBLEM SOLVING, PROCESS IMPROVEMENT, SAFETY STANDARDS, SELF MOTIVATED.
  • DOCUMENTATION, ENGINEER, FOOD SAFETY, MAINTENANCE, SAP Experience
  • A demonstrated ability to apply fundamental concepts of science and engineering to solve problems in a beverage manufacturing site.
  • Knowledgeable of liquid processing and packaging industry best practices (design, control, safety, etc.
  • Numerical/verbal reasoning, Computer literate.
  • Understanding of Asset Performance and maintenance philosophy with excellent Process Improvement and root cause problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work in a team and be an effective team member, good communication skills.
  • Has strength of character to challenge poor team behaviors and non-adherence to standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and experience implementing Lean projects.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma.
Education:

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (M.E., I.E., E.E., MfG.E.).
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience related to process engineering.
  • Experience using lean continuous improvement tools & leading project/Kaizen events.
  • Lean six sigma green belt or black belt a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (focus on Excel and Access).
  • Visio and Minitab experience preferred.
  • 2D/3D modeling experience.
  • Redzone experience a plus.
