JOB SUMMARY:

The individual in this role will act as the first point of contact in Human Resources for Team Members and applicants in person, over the phone and electronically. Duties include oversight of the HR front desk, general administration within the HR office, and various HR functions. This is an excellent entry level opportunity for someone looking to begin or expand their experience in HR, with a path for growth.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Act as the first point of contact for Team Members and applicants in person, over the phone, and via email or other electronic means of communication.
  • Effectively coordinate all HR/Recruiting front desk functions, including assisting walk-ins, processing basic HR/Recruiting transactions, and administratively supporting all areas of HR, as needed.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of employee engagement and internal communication activities including Team Member events, community activities and recognition programs.
  • Facilitates and processes various HR actions including but not limited to: ADA requests and employment verifications.
  • Responds to all employee inquiries in a courteous and professional manner within 24 hours of receiving a call, a request or other inquiry.
  • Performs various administrative functions, including maintaining HR records, paper and electronic filing, and creating/updating spreadsheets and other electronic tracking records.
  • Accurately enters data into property systems, creates and maintains Team Member files and assists with transition to digital record-keeping.
  • Regularly interacts with Team Members across property, acting as a role model and culture champion.
  • Supports all functions of Human Resources as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of Human Resources, administrative or similar experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to obtain a Gaming Control Board license
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to make decisions, be objective, and occasionally handle complex issues independently; must be comfortable dealing with difficult situations and interactions.
  • Ability to initiate and engage in written and verbal communication in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Must be able to act professionally and always maintain confidentiality.
  • Technical ability, including knowledge of various common computer platforms such as: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, etc.
  • Must possess strong organizational, data entry, time management and clerical skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrable active listening and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology and teach others preferred.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time (8 hours)
  • Visual and auditory range must include immediate environment.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property including stairs and escalators.
  • Must be able to work independently with little/unclear guidance at times.
  • Must be able to understand and interact with individuals from different cultures and ethnicities.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, and kneel and occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 15 lbs.

Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy
environment and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
