Join a committed team that values safety and reliability, fully utilizing the expansive logistics infrastructure of System Freight to meet and exceed both company and client expectations. Operate a tractor-trailer or truck following all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. Ensure timely delivery of freight to multiple locations, primarily direct-to-store deliveries, as outlined in the trip plan. Maintain logbooks and pre/post trip inspection paperwork within federal standards and company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatch/operations staff to promptly report any issues or delays and to receive delivery instructions. Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible. Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the organization. Handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, mechanical failures) calmly and report them as necessary. Ensure the security and safety of the cargo during transit. Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on the vehicle to ensure operational effectiveness. Proficiency in operating a CDL-A compliant vehicle with a clear driving record. Strong time management and logistics planning skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic mechanical skills to manage minor repairs.
