Pharmacy Technician As a pharmacy technician, you ensure patient safety by accurately preparing and dispensing medications. Your efficiency in managing inventory and processing prescriptions allows pharmacists to focus on patient care. By providing excellent customer service and medication guidance, you enhance patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment plans. Provides basic drug distribution and drug preparation services.

Checks pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, preparing labels, calculating quantities and other pharmaceutical therapies. Functions under the supervision of the pharmacist. Principle responsibilities include: Prepares medications. Manage and support automated drug distribution and drug inventory.

Complete and document quality assurance activities. Repackages and labels bulk medications or splits tablets into unit dose packaging. Provides customer service. Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include being 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, vocational or technical training from an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program, and 0 to 2 years pharmacy technician experience. Licenses/certifications required include Registered Pharmacy Technician - MN Board of Pharmacy and Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. Physical demands include light work: lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently.

Pay range: $21.72 to $31.70 per hour. The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
