Plat and Drainage Engineer

This position is responsible for assisting in the design, review, and construction inspection of private residential subdivision/sites and other infrastructure projects. Responsibilities may include: assisting in the review and inspection of private development projects; assisting in the preparation of engineering reports; assisting in the review of capital improvement plans; performing entry level design activities and cost estimates in the development of infrastructure projects and construction bonds. Additional engineering activities include preparing construction drawings; performing engineering design calculations.
Performs entry-level design and review activities under general supervision. Items may include assisting with the review of drainage designs, street designs, bond development, and compliance with County subdivision regulations. Assists with project analysis; communicates with technical personnel; reviews, explains, and coordinates project components and design issues with other County Departments and agencies. Items may include assistance and coordination with Ohio Environmental Protection Agency stormwater programs and ditch petition projects. Develops bond estimates, conducts field investigations, assists with Plat Department construction inspection activities, and/or performs other related activities. Assists in preparation of a variety of correspondence, technical documentation, and/or studies related to applicable projects. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or related field

preferred, or equivalent work experience.
