Compensation:

  • Non-exempt/Hourly
  • New hires are placed on our starting wage scale $25.50 to $30.34 per hour
  • Based on performance, there is room to grow on our full wage scale of $25.50 to $35.05 per hour
Work Schedule:

Job Summary

The Quality Improvement Coordinator seeks to improve the health maintenance of the patients assigned to Unity Care NW by performing outreach to patients who are due for health maintenance visits or tests; through maintenance of the patient roster; and by making contributions to other tactics implemented collaboratively by the QI team.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a role requiring advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses specific knowledge and training in public and/or community health typically acquired during completion of a certificate or license program.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and healthcare practices, with additional expertise in the field of public and/or community health
  • Two (2) year degree preferred or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Experience working with underserved populations and knowledge of health equity, social determinants of health and cultural competency strongly preferred.
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Skills in teaching complex health education topics in a health literate manner.
  • Ability to understand and respond effectively and with sensitivity to special population groups, including those defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, economic standing, & others.
  • Familiarity with and ability to create more complex documents and presentations in Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Forms, etc.
  • Possesses ability to effectively communicate information that is complex and/or technical to co-workers and others.
  • Able to exercise tact and diplomacy in the resolution of mild conflicts or disagreements that occur on the job that would be considered at a level of basic "customer service."
  • Effectively communicates information during informal and formal verbal interactions.
  • Prepares and effectively executes presentations of information and analysis to groups.
  • Possesses ability to teach patients in small and large group settings, as well as in individual interactions.
  • Ability to travel within the service area for patient outreach and between UCNW facilities.
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
  • One to two-years' experience working in public health or health care setting preferred.
  • Administrative experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate multilingually, a plus.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), preferred.
