Ideally, you have a strong background in Cloud/Data Engineering with industry experience with AWS services, vendor cloud platforms as well as data engineering using various ETL/ELT tools. Additionally, it is preferred that you have robust experience in cloud platforms and system architectures.The TeamAs a Quantitative Cloud/Data Engineer, you will join the Quantitative Investment & Developer Operations team, part of MassMutuals Investment Management organization. The Quantitative development team is comprised of highly skilled, financial industry savvy professionals who render collaborative and portfolio risk solutions to our portfolio managers. You will have impact through some of the below responsibilities:Maintain and support existing AWS services (EC2/Subnets/Lambda/AMI/Firewals/IAM)Design, build and maintain complex ETL jobs that deliver business value.Translate high-level business requirements into technical specs.Patching vulnerabilities in cloud services when identified.Ingest data from disparate sources into the various data stores. Cleanse and enrich data and apply adequate data quality controls.Provide insight and direction to guide the future development of MassMutuals data platform.Develop re-usable tools to help streamline the delivery of new projects.Collaborate closely with other developers and provide mentorship.Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, processes and reference architectures.Deploy reusable workflow & orchestration.Work in an Agile development environment, attending daily stand-up meetings and delivering incremental improvements.The Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business or a related field.2+ years of experience in the IT, and/or finance industry1+ years of experience developing with Python and advanced data processing using Python libraries & AWS services.Experience working in a cloud environment and administration (e.g. AWS)Experience in modeling and tuning relational databases (SQL Server/PostgreSQL) and NOSQL databases (Mongo)Understanding of ETL methodologies and proficient in tools via PythonExperience with GIT and code review/deployment & scheduling part of operationsExperience in relational databases (SQLServer/PostgreSQL) and NOSQL databases (Mongo)Experience in Agile/SCRUM-specifically in Story/Acceptance criteria developmentThe Ideal QualificationsMasters degree in computer science, engineering or a related field4+ Years of experience in the IT and/or quantitative, investment or finance industryExperience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis to determine and remediate potential issuesGood knowledge of orchestration and scheduling toolsExperience with data reporting (e.g. Micro strategy, Tableau, Looker) or via python librariesEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a rapid and iterative development environmentExperience delivering mobile apps and app store ecosystemsExtremely organized, detail-oriented individual who is capable of self-managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced, demanding environmentExcellent communication, problem solving, organizational and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly and appropriately handle sensitive informationA Data-driven mindset and the ability to use quantitative tools and analyze unstructured feedback to inform the development of solutionsThe ability to adapt to changing business priorities and a strong work ethicCuriosity regarding emerging digital and technology trends can translate into excellent customer experiencesProven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomesWhat to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the TeamRegular meetings with the Quantitative and ETX project teamsFocused one-on-one meetings with your managerAccess to mentorship opportunitiesNetworking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQ, Veteran and disability-focused Business Resource GroupsAccess to learning content on Degreed and other informational platformsYour ethics and integrity will be valued by a company with a strong and stable ethical business with industry leading pay and benefits#LI-CR37MassMutual is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer Minority/Female/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
