**Sign On Bonus Available** Directly responsible and accountable to the Director of Technology and Operations. Responsible for the security, administration, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and documentation of the corporate-wide LAN/WAN environments within HHS. This responsibility involves ensuring network security, maintaining system backup procedures, managing internal and external communications to the network, and ensuring that all network related hardware and software is maintained and updated with associated documentation. The Network Engineer II also performs special projects as assigned.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
- Associate's degree preferred in Computer Science or related field.
- In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience and equivalent technical/vocational certifications.
- Good organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with initiative.
- In-depth knowledge of the System Engineering life cycle process and project management processes.
- Systems architecture experience including hardware, software requirements, and licensing, is required.
- Experience in project planning and estimating.
- Basic knowledge of server infrastructure and technologies such as server virtualization, Active Directory, SAN networking protocols and cloud usage.
- Certified Cisco Associate certification (CCNA) preferred or equivalent hands-on experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, Security Devices or Wireless Infrastructure.
- Solid communication skills; effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
- Able to build strong work relationship with customers and teammates.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Capable of working in a fast-paced team environment; able to meet strict deadlines.
- Possess drive to explore and implement new technologies and improve general technical knowledge is required.
- Experienced with performing systems integration and testing.
