Role: Gate House Park - Park AidePay rate: $16.00 - $16.25/ hr DOELocation: Sly Valley, CAWORK HOURS: Work assignments are limited in duration (seasonal) and are based on a full-time basis; days and hours will vary with weekend and holiday work required.SUMMARY: Under supervision, performs a variety of cashiering and customer service functions in a park and recreation setting within the Gatehouse at Sly Park Recreation area. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this class and are not intended to be an inclusive list. Greet park visitors. Collect fees and assign campsites to visitors. Maintain and balance cash drawer. Provide visitors with park information. Answer phones and operate online reservation system. Interpret and communicate District policies and recreation rules and regulations. Interact courteously with the public and District personnel. Perform other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to read and interpret park rules and regulations. Ability to communicate verbally and in written format. Ability to answer a wide variety of questions from park visitors and District staff. On a continuous basis, sit at desk and/or stand at the counter for long periods of time; intermittently twist and reach office equipment; write and use keyboard to communicate through written means; lift or carry weight of 25 pounds or less.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES:Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.Experience: Six months experience in cash handling is desirableSPECIAL QUALIFICATION:Licenses and Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license at the time of appointment.
