Engineer, Robotic Laser Cutting - Mason, MI

JOB SUMMARY
Supports Maintenance, Production, and Quality areas with technical expertise regarding Robotic Laser Assembly equipment. Keeps up to date with latest technologies related to job function. Creates, develops, and delivers maintenance and training programs, including TPM systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Robotic Laser program/parameter development and documentation.
•Supplier management in all hardware/fixture suppliers.
•Ensures proper adjustments of all robotic laser processes and equipment including Remote/Laser Fill.
•Troubleshoots problems on production lines, takes timely corrective action.
•Develops regular PM's for Maintenance team, provides training as needed.
•Serves as point of contact for other departments and personnel for robotic laser technologies.
•Troubleshooting and optimization of Laser programs.
•Responsible for specification and buyoff of new robotic laser fixtures/equipment.
•Maintenance support during on-line troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions including interface with Laser controls.
•Creates, documents, develops and delivers procedures to ensure Robotic Laser equipment meets all targets relating to Quality, Cost and Delivery.
•Improves overall processes and related issues by taking a proactive lead in the Continuous Improvement Activities.
•Maintains current knowledge of Robotic Laser industry technology and advances.
•Design, Installation and De-bug of machinery and Capital equipment.
•Assures adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and
IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
•Required 5 years' experience in Engineering or Maintenance related field and/or 5 years' working with robotic laser cutting processes.
•At least 3 years' experience working with Fanuc robots.
•At least 3 years' relevant experience in electric/assembly maintenance.
•Preferred 2 years' experience working with Trumpf laser power units.
•Preferred 2 years' experience working with Rockwell software platforms.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES
•Working knowledge of electrical.
•Troubleshooting skills on drive controls and Fanuc robots.
•Working knowledge of QMS, FMEA and Control plans.
•Demonstrated ability to independently act without permanent direct supervision.
•Proven ability to troubleshoot and develop solutions to complex technical issues.
•Excellent multi-task skills; able to prioritize accordingly.
•Mechanical and plumbing knowledge.
•Computer skills in software for common application (Word, Excel, Windows...) and basic hardware knowledge on component level.
•Proficient in AutoCAD and Rockwell Controls.
•Understanding of 3D coordinate systems relative to CMM reporting.
•Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
