The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $71,700 - $93,810. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer Level II Are you passionate about Production Quality? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our US QA department. As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer Level II, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer II is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and processes on the manufacturing floor. This role focuses on implementing quality controls, resolving issues and collaborating with teams to maintain compliance with standards and specifications. Key Responsibilities: Quality Control Implementation: Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet required specifications. Issue Investigation: Identify, investigate and resolve manufacturing quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions. Process Auditing: Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to verify compliance with established standards. Customer Escape Containment: Assist in customer escape containment and resolution processes by gathering data, analyzing defects and contributing to corrective actions as part of a team. Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Reduction: Participate in cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction and production stop activities by supporting root cause analysis and applying approved corrective measures. Documentation Review: Help verify accuracy in prints and acceptance criteria, contributing to defect identification, disposition and deviation processes while adhering to established quality protocols. Quality Support & Collaboration: Provide quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality-related issues and drive continuous improvements. Support the resolution of complex quality issues, utilizing advanced problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventative measures. Metrics & Feedback Utilization: Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, sharing insights with leaders, partners and other key stakeholders. Team Support: Support other quality engineers in their work, setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team. Industry Trends & Innovation: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, make improvement recommendations to leadership based on new insights. Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and rules. Additional Functions Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required. Communicate effectively and respectfully with others. Other responsibilities as assigned. What you'll Need To Succeed: Required Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field. 3-5 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry. Demonstrated experience in participating in quality improvement projects. Proven ability to support quality problem resolutions. Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis. Some experience with statistical analysis tools used for quality analysis. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001. Some experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics. Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment. Rounded attention to detail with an analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles and present compelling information to achieve buy-in. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI. Preferred Master's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ Environmental and Hazardous Conditions Occasionally working indoors/outdoors in an air-conditioned/non-air-conditioned office/manufacturing/site-based environment. Infrequently exposure to fumes/vapors/dust/gases/odors/mist/toxic chemicals/radiation/vibration/grease/oils/radiation/lasers/other etc. Occasionally exposed to low/moderate/high noise levels including machinery/vehicles/forklifts/office equipment/office traffic etc. Infrequently working around energized equipment with the risk of electrocution/scalding/burns/other etc. Infrequently exposed to wet humid/outdoor weather/extreme cold (non-weather)/extreme heat (non-weather) conditions/other etc. Infrequently working with machinery with moving parts/vehicles/forklifts/heavy machinery/sharp objects/other etc. Ready to make an impact and become an employee-owner?
