Structural Engineer (5-15 years’ experience) Are you a structural engineer with solid design experience that is seeking an opportunity to use your strengths and manage various projects while further developing your engineering skills? AMI Consulting Engineers, P.A. is currently seeking a structural engineer with comprehensive design experience to join our team in our Superior, WI or St. Paul, MN office. The preferred candidate will be responsible for the assessment, planning, and execution of structural designs on a wide range of projects.

Candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have impeccable follow through while taking ownership in each project assigned. The successful candidate must have experience in serving the engineering needs of clients by providing exceptional professional service. They should be enthusiastic about their work, enjoy variety, and like problem solving. This candidate should also be collaborative, honest, and have a helpful disposition with a positive “can-do” attitude. Travel and field work may be required to complete projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects assigned. Provide technical direction for the coordination, planning, and execution of engineering projects including new construction, and modifications to industrial and marine structures. Prepare construction documents, detailed calculations, and specifications for structural systems within established schedule and budget. Work independently, as well as with a team. Assist with mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians. Perform site visits, collect field data, perform research and analysis, and prepare field reports. Review contractor submittals during construction for conformance to construction document requirements. Preparation of construction cost estimates. Working knowledge of current industry software: RISA 3D, RAM, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and REVIT.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Engineer with P.E. 5-15 years’ experience in design of structural components and systems including concrete, masonry, steel, wood, cold formed steel, precast concrete, etc. Experienced in the design of building Industrial, Marine, and Coastal structural projects. Self-starter and results driven. Willing and able to grow into a position leading the building structural design group. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of structural design in marine, coastal, and industrial structures. Skilled in the design of steel, wood/timber, precast, concrete, and composite structures.

Compensation: Wage and benefits package is dependent upon qualifications and experience of candidate.
