Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The Senior Design Engineer will play a key role in leading the design and development of innovative products for manufacturing, from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design, project management, and team leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Lead the design and development of new products for manufacturing, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints. Utilize engineering principles and advanced CAD software to create detailed designs and technical drawings optimized for manufacturing processes. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure product feasibility and manufacturability. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle, with a focus on manufacturing efficiency and scalability. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the manufacturing team. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design engineering for manufacturing, and integrate relevant advancements into product development processes. Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and validation activities, and iterate designs based on feedback and test results to optimize manufacturability and performance. Drive the resolution of technical issues and challenges encountered during product development and manufacturing, employing sound problem-solving skills and engineering principles. Support the transition of product designs to manufacturing, collaborating with production teams to ensure a smooth and efficient production ramp-up. Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, drawings, test plans, and other project-related documentation in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools. Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources effectively. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts and ideas to diverse stakeholders. Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior team members. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to product design and development (e.g., ISO, FDA regulations) is desirable. Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving. Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field; master’s degree preferred. 5 years of experience in product design and development, with a proven track record of bringing complex products to market. Must be 18 years of age or older. Physical Requirements:

The ability to sit or walk for extended periods of time. Office work environment / some production shop environment Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
