Job Summary:

  • The Community Manager will be responsible for developing and executing community engagement strategies that align with our vision and mission. This role demands a blend of scientific knowledge, extraordinary communication and networking skills with strong planning and project management skills along with strategic thinking and operational drive, aiming to engage with various stakeholders, including industry professionals, researchers, and the public, to build a supportive and informed community.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement: Develop, implement, and manage engagement strategies to foster a vibrant and interactive biotech & tech community. Organize virtual and in-person events, workshops, and webinars, keeping the engagement high in basecamp (our 4,500 sqft of community space). Engage our audience and identify key segments and influencers to help focus communications strategies and strengthen the dialogue between the community and FITCI.

Content Creation: Generate compelling content that resonates with our audience, including blog posts, newsletters, and social media updates, translating complex scientific concepts into accessible information. Analyze data from multiple resources for integration into the strategic market plans. Build and maintain a calendar of content, events, and activities designed to keep clients and stakeholders engaged with FITCI. Identify, develop and foster relationships with key clients to build success stories.

Networking: Actively network with industry professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders to grow our community and establish collaborative relationships. Be an active champion and share the voice of the community to shape FITCIs strategic direction.

Feedback Loop: Serve as the primary point of contact for community feedback, questions, and discussions. Utilize insights to inform company strategies and product development. Track and report on KPIs, being able to read and synthesize broad community sentiment and social activity on key topics.

Brand Advocacy: Amplify our brands presence and values within the biotech industry, leveraging community insights to enhance brand advocacy and loyalty.

Team & Sales: Collaborates and works well with the Leasing Manager and the marketing team to develop the Leasing, and Marketing Plan and sales strategies to achieve budgeted occupancy for the properties. Maximizing the profitability of the community.

Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor community engagement and sentiment. Report on metrics to measure the effectiveness of community engagement strategies and adjust plans accordingly. Establish a routine team check-in on all issues related to community.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Communications, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3 years experience in community management, ideally within the biotech or life sciences industry.

- Extraordinary verbal and written communication and networking skills, with proficiency in content creation and digital communication tools.

- Strategic, independent thinking with operational drive and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, changing environment.

- Strong planning, project management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Experience in social media environment.

- Develop meaningful partnerships that can help drive membership & Donations to the community.

- Skilled at how to tell an interactive story and facilitate a two-way conversation with using words, images, video, keywords, and hyperlinks.

- Last and perhaps most importantly, a genuine passion for startups and entrepreneurs and continue to surprise and delight our top-tier community contributors.
