Responsibilities:
The Industrial engineer is responsible for maximizing their overall impact on the bottom line.
Major Areas of Responsibility for this position include but are not limited to:
- Labor standards
- Cost to Produce
- Crewing evaluations
- Donning and doffing studies
Specific responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Work with Corporate Industrial Engineer to establish labor standards
- Provide updated labor standards for weekly labor variance reports
- Review weekly variance reports in detail and work with local management on opportunities
- Establish incremental labor needed to produce new product
- Evaluate labor costs and work with management on making necessary changes
- Manage and evaluate crewing needs
- Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities
- Provide Leadership and Support to Continuous Improvement initiatives at the plant level
- Research and provide justification / recommendations for capital expenditures
- Eliminate complexity from ideas/processes and break them down to their simplest elements
- Challenge the status quo and bring new ideas into the open
This is an on-site position. This is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications:Qualified candidates for the Industrial Engineer position should possess the following:
- Broad knowledge and experience in Manufacturing / production environments, specifically protein industries
- Above average skills in Microsoft Office / Visio
- Excellent skills in:
- Analysis and implementation of enhancements to existing work methods, flows and processes to improve current capabilities
- Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Interact with individuals at all levels of authority
- Work independently with little supervision
- General knowledge of:
- Statistical process control
- Ergonomics / employee work environment improvements
- Time Motion Studies
- CAD systems
Education and Experience
- 4-year degree or equivalent experience in field
- Experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting
- Fluent in English language; read write, speak
- Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
