As the Logistics Analyst, you will support the Senior Director of Transportation by providing analytical insights and logistical support to optimize transportation operations across all SAS locations. This role involves data analysis, process improvement, and strategic planning to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions. The Logistics Analyst will work closely with operational leaders and other stakeholders to enhance transportation performance, reduce costs, and improve service quality.

Logistics Analyst Responsibilities Include:
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on KPIs to measure the performance of carriers, shipping operations, and financial outcomes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transportation processes, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  • Assist in developing and implementing best practices and standard operating procedures for transportation operations.
  • Assist in the development and management of the transportation budget, including cost reduction initiatives and financial performance tracking.
  • Analyze freight costs and develop strategies to optimize transportation costs.
  • Support negotiations with carriers to secure favorable rates and service levels.
  • Monitor carrier performance and compliance with established service agreements.
  • Collaborate with operations managers and other stakeholders to resolve transportation-related issues.
  • Provide analytical support for transportation planning, including route optimization and load planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including DOT and FMCSA requirements.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate transportation risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation vendors and other external partners.
  • Support cross-functional teams by providing data-driven insights and recommendations for transportation initiatives.
  • Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service's DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.
Logistics Analyst Qualifications and Skills:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to pass the drug screen and background check.
  • Consistent work history and attendance record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and OneDrive.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have great attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring access to sensitive information only when essential for job duties.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles, including transportation and distribution operations.
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
Logistics Analyst Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include:
  • 80% of the time this job will be completed while sitting.
  • 20% of the time this job will be completed while walking and standing.
  • This position requires less than 20% travel. However, travel may increase periodically depending on specific projects or transportation initiatives. Travel may include visits to various SAS locations, meetings with vendors and carriers, and attendance at industry conferences or training sessions. The ability to travel at short notice may be necessary to address urgent transportation issues or to support critical business operations.
