Vanderbilt’s mission is to advance health and wellness through preeminent programs in patient care, education, and research. **Organization:** CELA **Job Summary:** JOB SUMMARY Establish artificial intelligence systems for multifaceted ability/ disability and evaluations; manage data compilation, computer input and retrieval; establish and maintain computer systems. Perform under minimal supervision a wide variety of complex tasks requiring practical understanding of scientific techniques, engineering techniques, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, robotics, simulation, maintenance, and advanced knowledge of scientific and engineering theory. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Under minimal supervision, plan, conduct and evaluate simulations and technical trainers (partial task trainers) of varying complexity. Plan and coordinate simulations in conjunction with the CELA team and STP Manager. Understand and follow simulation protocols (may include animal handling, equipment fabrication, equipment assembly, manufacturing, etc.) Record, compile, interpret, and communicate data/results. Follow University and VUMC safety protocols (may include use of combustibles, radioactivity, toxic material, and/or carcinogens) Perform calculations involving physics principles, robotic principles, and engineering theory. Prepare, operate and troubleshoot equipment in experimental procedures. Recommend equipment and supplies needed for simulations. Read and follow all equipment manuals. Maintain and repair equipment according to manufacturer and VUMC guidelines. Ensure simulation laboratory is prepared for clients. Maintain inventories. Maintain sterile and clean conditions as required. Prepare testing systems and phantoms. Assist CELA team in modifying simulations, procedures, and techniques. Recommend improvements to established simulations, techniques, and/or protocols. Maintain personal knowledge of scientific trends through literature reviews and when applicable attendance at meetings, conferences and seminars. Provide appropriate written/oral documentation of simulations and trainings. Preparation and oral presentation of data as required. Assist in the effective operation of the CELA facility.
