- Senior Buyer / Planner
* Create and maintain SAP planning and purchasing parameters, and material master data for designated products/portfolio. Lead and participate in projects for supply chain activities. Serve as main point of contact in day-to-day operations, and provide guidance to resolve supply chain issues as needed. Understands and utilizes analytical concepts, using business acumen in the evaluation and analysis of data, processes and systems.
* Manage strong working relationships and communications with operations/manufacturing and key suppliers. Act as first line of escalation and determining root causes for part shortages. Responsible for initiating and driving supplier performance improvement goals and initiatives, and monitoring and initiating corrective and preventive measures. Attend supplier quarterly business reviews to discuss previous quarter supplier performance and provide current business needs.
* Responsible for the development and implementation/execution of inventory strategy for strategic products/portfolio assuring right inventory is available as per the demand, while achieving or exceeding established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Participate as a key stakeholder in the Sales & Operations Planning process and in the development & implementation of best in class Supply Chain Management Practices to ensure highest level of customer service while achieving Planning and Purchasing key performance indicators.
* Negotiate and implement logistics models with strategic suppliers in collaboration with Strategic Purchasing for the purpose of achieving optimal inventory turns and dollars. Create, implement, and maintain quantity contracts while providing forecasts to vendors in an effort to achieve inventory flexibility.
* Drive and supportsTechnical Cost Change (TCC) funnel for Product Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) improvement, utilizing external and internal guidance, Purchasing initiatives and or commodity strategies to propose design changes for Technical Cost Reductions or supplier transfers. Responsible for developing savings plan, and working with local and global partners to implement. Possess general product and technology knowledge for related material groups.
* Process Object Approval (OA) & Agile workflows to ensure timely product release. Implement and coordinate price changes on all relevant purchase orders and monitor Purchase Price Variance to achieve optimal pricing goals. Communicates all changes in regards to drawings, specification and or project plan from change board to supplier. Ensure commercial aspects will be considered during the change process, negotiate changes with supplier. Responsible for maintaining master purchasing data in SAP and the managing of First Article Inspection (FAI) POs.
* Participate in product steering board meetings as a representative of the Purchasing/Planning organization. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Strategic Purchasing, Production departments and the Supplier to coordinate implementation of changes to minimize impact of inventory and production schedule. Ensure supply chain initiatives (Purchasing/Planning) are communicated and implemented within the product portfolio.
* Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
Education:
BA/BS in related field or the equivalent in education, training and experience.
Related Experience:
Five (5) plus years of Purchasing, Planning, Supply Chain experience.
Special Competencies or Certifications:
* Proficient knowledge & experience in SAP a must
* Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects at once
* Ability to effectively communicate and present information to executive management
* Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and administrative skills
* Strong analytical skills, ability perform data analysis
* Strong understanding of supply chain concepts and application
* Travel required 20%
