BASICFUNCTION
Thelicensed therapist evaluates and treats patients and communicates withpatients, clients and team members. The licensed therapist maintainsdocumentation of services in the medical record. Conducts in-services andtraining for patients, clients and team members on an ongoing basis inrestorative techniques.
CHARACTERISTICDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervise TherapistAssistants and therapy students in direct patient care to carry out plan ofcare and patient related activities per state practice act and reimbursementregulations
- Demonstrate apositive attitude and team building approach with all patients, clients andteam members
- Consistentlyattends work and provides appropriate notice for scheduled paid time off
- Maintainsproductivity standard as determined by supervisor and clinical needs
- Demonstrates consistentknowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
- Evaluate patientsbased upon the physician referral/orders
- Develop effectivetreatment plans with functional, goal based outcomes and ensure approval/orders for services from referring physician
- Treat patientsaccording to treatment plan
- Record clinicaldocumentation according to accepted regulatory and professional guidelines
- Record dailytreatment charges per approved billing guidelines
- Instruct familiesand nursing staff regarding restorative/home programs
- Participate indischarge planning
- Communicate withsupervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problemsand plans
- Participate ininterdisciplinary team meetings, patient care conferences, utilization reviewmeetings, and other meetings as required or directed
- Participate inin-service training program for other staff at the facility
- Participate infacility performance improvement programs
- Coordinatewith members of other departments, attending physicians, committee members, andother staff within the Rehab department
- Performother duties as required or directed
- Screenpatients based upon identified need
- Assistwith cleaning maintenance of treatment area and department
- Securenecessary durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment for patients
- Reportany problems with department equipment to appropriate personnel so that it ismaintained in good working order
- Travelor float between facilities as determined by supervisor and patient needs
EDUCATION/LICENSURE
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a validstate license or eligibility to obtain license in state where services areprovided.
