Library Associate

Tulsa City-County Library strives to promote lifelong literacy and learning in all forms. Collinsville Library seeks a Children's Library Associate to deliver storytimes and other programming to ensure children of Collinsville are ready to read, by performing storytimes, Stay and Play activities and outreach to our community. Library Associates also answer reference and reader's advisory questions and act as a Person-in-Charge of the building.

Other duties include:

• Plans and implements the location's participation in system-wide special programs such as the Summer Reading Program and Books-to-Treasure;
• Helps develop and maintain the children's collection at this library; including recommending materials for purchase;
• Actively supports TCCL's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts, and the Library's Be All In culture;
• Bachelors' degree required

Children's Library Associate
Location: Collinsville Library 1223 W. Main Collinsville, OK. 74012
Salary: $21.10/hr.
Status: Part time - 20 hour/week

Schedule:

Tuesday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm;

Wednesday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm;

Friday 9:30 am - 4:00 pm;

Alternating Thursdays 11:30am - 8:00pm;

Rotating Saturdays 9:30am - 5:00pm

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors' degree required.
• Library, education, retail or customer service experience preferred.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

Work occasionally requires stooping and bending. Occasional light lifting such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required.

There are usually no major sources of discomfort; work is essentially conducted in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions.
