This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Position Purpose

The position is responsible for coordination of the grant activities for the de-escalation training program ( COPS grant subaward). The De-Escalation Coordinator is responsible for communication with grant project staff, coordination of trainee recruitment, marketing, class set-up, scheduling, oversight of instructors, Missouri POST education program hour approval through the MSC POST Administrator, and other activities related to the program. The De-Escalation Coordinator will report to the Senior Director and will have responsibility, in coordination with the Financial Operations Coordinator, for vouchering, budget monitoring, and other reporting and administrative requirements.

Education & Formal Training

High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's degree (Specify field(s) of study below), Formal training (specify), Education/Experience substitution (specify)

Other Education & Formal Training

Missouri POST Certified Generalist Instructor (Required)
Completion of approved Instructor Development Course (Required)
Specialty training in: Use of Force, De-Escalation Techniques, Crisis Intervention Team ( CIT ), Cultural Competency (Preferred)
Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or Related Field (Preferred); Experience may substitute for education.

Computer Skills

Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation

Experience

Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in law enforcement field
Minimum 3 years Trainer experience at the police academy or in continuing law enforcement training (Preferred)
