**Family Aquatic Center - LIFEGUARD**
Assure the safety of the Family Aquatic Center customers in and around the aquatic facility. Attend to other miscellaneous duties as instructed by Head Staff. Training is provided.
* C ommitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in serving the public and within all aspect of the work environment
* Primary responsibilities are safety, security, and public relation
* Perform emergency rescues and First Aid
* Always maintain a safe environment in and around the aquatic facility
* Enforce all facility rules and policies effectively and equally
* Report potential hazards and unsafe conditions
* Refer customer service issues to the Manager on duty
* Attend and participate in mandatory weekly meetings and in-service trainings
* Provide positive, courteous, and helpful service to guests and fellow staff
* Report to duty 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the shift
* Perform cleaning/sanitizing of restrooms and facility as well as trash removal
* Perform facility equipment inspections, and other duties as directed by the Head Staff
* Complete other duties as assigned

The East Lansing Family Aquatic Center (ELFAC), located at 6400 Abbot Road, is an interactive outdoor water facility that provides a safe, family-oriented aquatic experience to patrons.
**Qualifications**
Age 16 years or older
Current or ability to obtain Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, and First Aid certifications (May class)
Prefer previous lifeguarding experience
Good decision-making ability
Ability to work and communicate positively with all ages
Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
Must be able to work various shifts 7 days a week (including weekends/holidays)
