The *Child and Family Guidance Center* provides comprehensive and collaborative outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents and their families throughout the San Fernando and Antelope Valleys.

**The Position:**

We are seeking a ***Family Support Specialist - HFA*** for our Palmdale site to work in our home-based Healthy Families America Program assisting at-risk parents with newborn children and providing support for healthy infant development, strong parent-bonding and prevent substance abuse.

**Essential Job Functions:**

* Delivery of the Healthy Families program to assigned children and their families.

* Coordinate home-based activities.

* Work with families and Healthy Families team toward developing plans for children and their families.

* Promotes safety for the home.

* Encourage and reinforce interactions among adults and children.

* Ensure all children are linked to medical services.

* Provide leadership and organization for the family in collaboration with Health Families team.

* Transports children and families.

**Skills You Need:**

* 1-year experience working with families in a home based-setting.

* Experience working with infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

* Must be able to provide creative nurturing and teaching practices to support parent and parent/child interactions.

* Must be able to work in a collaborative team setting.

**Hours:**

* FSLA Status: non-exempt

* 40 Hours (Full Time) Monday through Friday - Varies ability to work a non-traditional schedule required

* Work schedule is based on the needs of the Center

**Education Required:**

* Bachelors degree in human services, early childhood education or related field.

**Contingencies:**

* Must be fully vaccinated/boostered to comply with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and LAUSD mandate. The Center will provide accommodations as required by applicable law.
