Job Summary:

As a Production Painter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for applying paint and other finishes to various surfaces within healthcare facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, visually appealing, and meet industry standards. Your attention to detail, knowledge of painting techniques, and adherence to safety protocols will contribute to creating a positive healing environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primer as necessary. Ensure surfaces are smooth, free from debris, and properly prepared for paint application.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, fixtures, and equipment in hospital and healthcare settings. Use brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other appropriate tools to achieve desired results.
  • Assist in selecting appropriate paint colors and finishes that adhere to healthcare industry standards. Consider factors such as patient comfort, infection control, ease of maintenance, and overall aesthetics.
  • Inspect painted surfaces regularly, identify areas that require touch-ups or repairs, and perform necessary maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate records of paint colors and finishes used for future reference.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, patients, and visitors. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and handle paint, chemicals, and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Coordinate with other departments and healthcare staff to schedule painting projects and minimize disruptions to patient care. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure the quality and durability of painted surfaces by applying appropriate techniques, selecting high-quality materials, and following industry best practices. Strive for excellence in every aspect of the job to maintain a professional appearance throughout the healthcare facility.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations, codes, and guidelines related to paint and finish application in healthcare environments. Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of painting techniques, color theory, and surface preparation.
  • Knowledge of different types of paints, finishes, and related products.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and infection control practices.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work during non-peak hours or weekends, if required.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in painting is a plus.
  • 3-5 years experience as a painter, preferably in a healthcare or commercial setting required.
