Sr. Systems Engineer

Designs, defines and implements complex system requirements for customers and/or prepares studies and analyzes existing systems. Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions.
Supervision:
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. Determines and develops approach to solutions. May function as project lead and/or supervise/mentor other Signaling personnel.
Responsibilities include:
- Technical and team lead for current production and analysis of root cause/corrective action for failures.
- Serve as the technical and team lead in various aspects of product redesign and process improvement.
- Review and make recommendations on complex existing and new designs to ensure product meets functionality, performance, and quality per system requirements and procedures.
- Design complex, high-speed logic/circuitry using programmable devices.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of product/system prototypes.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, technical developments, and other new concepts and recommend and apply to current system design and platform development efforts.
- Ensure documentation is completed in accordance with company/customer quality standards.
- Work with and implement low cost/high efficiency engineering technologies, resources and/or processes to continually improve financial metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related degree and 5-8 years related experience, or significant industry experience
- Experience with safety critical design, verification, and validation criteria
