A great UHY client is seeking a VP of Finance to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, FP&A, accounting, and treasury management.

The VP of Finance role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

VP OF FINANCE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies and plans to support the company's overall goals and objectives. Guide the president in key financial decisions.
  • Organize and prepare financial statements for the president and board of directors. Recommend areas of concern or places risk can be taken.
  • Make recommendations on financial goals and objectives. Work closely with other leaders and departments in the company to align their strategies with our finances.
  • Develop a model for a calculated bonus structure that rewards our people when the company does well and incentivizes them to perform.
  • Assess potential acquisitions by being involved in all phases: due diligence, negotiations, and integration.
  • Work with the sales team on bidding opportunities in project management, Vendor Managed Inventory, or yearly contracts. Analyze and recommend aggressive strategies to help win these opportunities that are profitable for the company.
  • Manage the company's cash flow, including cash collections, rebate program, disbursements, debt, equity, and investments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and manage financial risks. Setup internal controls for monitoring the companys assets.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement aggressive tax planning strategies with external accountants to minimize the company's tax liability and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Evaluate investment portfolio and make recommendations to help grow or protect those investments. Analyze our commercial property & casualty risk in coordination with the insurance agency.
  • Develop and manage the company's annual budget, as well as, departmental budgets, including forecasting revenue and expenses, and monitoring performance against budget.
  • Oversee the company's accounting operations and team. Assess the processes and people in place and make decisions on how to be efficient
  • Always access our companys technology to find improvements in our financial accounting. Also, leverage it to gain competitive advantages and grow our bottom dollar.
  • Develop and oversee the company's financial and tax compliance engagements, including coordinating with external accountants and ensuring timely and accurate completion of compliance requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Savings: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to increase cost savings, efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Everyone in the company is in sales because we all touch the customer. Interacting with customers to find ways in which we can help them is crucial to building long term relationships which is key to our success.
  • This person must have high integrity, be trustworthy, and maintain confidentiality at all times.

VP OF FINANCE GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA in Finance or Business, MBA and/or CPA a plus.
  • 5-10 years of financial management experience, preferably in private sector Sub-S Corporation
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Profit 21 or similar ERP experience preferred.
  • Hands-on approach to financial analysis and accounting tasks
  • Able to multitask with strong prioritization skills
  • Strong and well-developed analytical skills and an ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner
  • Good judgment skills in terms of being able to make appropriate assumptions to complete analysis timely
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience building financial models, and conducting financial analysis using MS Excel or accounting software.
  • Proficiency in understanding customer needs, inter-departmental relationships, and organizational dynamics
  • Good problem solving, math, and organizational skills, which meet the requirements of a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
