Position Summary: As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for service and maintenance-related administrative duties associated with the service department. These duties include but are not limited to work order completion, technician time tracking, warranty recovery, and preventive maintenance currency. You are also responsible for scheduling, and maintaining files, processing service-related invoices, handling customer inquiries, and keeping the service department informed concerning service issues and general information. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as the "bridge" between customers and our service department. You will understand customer needs, communicate those to the team, and update the customer on any progress or changes along the way.
- Allocate work assignments to technicians and ensure work follows established procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor and review the progress of work orders, ensuring that deadlines are met and any issues or delays are promptly addressed.
- Maintain and update service records, including work orders, repair logs, and customer information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Draft, review, and process warranties promptly
- Support processing billing for completed work orders
- Assist with coverage of dispatchers in their absence and help support dispatching technicians when needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and clean working environment for both employees and customers.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.

- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 - 2 years experience in a shop or service environment
- Basic computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
- High sense of urgency with respect to customer service
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- This position requires but is not limited to lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, listening and speaking with internal and external clients.
