Job DescriptionThe Plant Quality Engineer (PQE) is responsible for all aspects of product conformity for their systems / Components at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant. The PQE reports directly to the PQE Manager and will build effective relationships with both salaried and hourly, assembly plant/corporate personnel, in order to complete projects within their area of responsibility.Responsibilities include: Validating product changes, providing technical expertise, and improving outgoing quality that will meet or exceed our customers' expectations. With unquestioned integrity and strength of conviction, the PQE responds to manufacturing quality issues and manages all product changes. Through the usage of advanced problem-solving methods and SPW structured problem-solving methodology, the PQE supports all continuous quality improvement initiatives within the plant. Furthermore, the PQE must work collaboratively with cross-functional manufacturing teams and facilitates consensus and drive action from the main stakeholders.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Represent "Voice of the Customer" within the Assembly PlantSupport external quality Key Performance Indicators (KPI) management for achieving targets, driving improvement/corrective actions and escalationReview warranty/Customer Quality Insight (CQI) claims daily, maintain issue stratification and maintain the portion of Warranty Wall responsible for their areaResolution of systemic/chronic or major quality issues (Top Warranty, Recalls, Rapid Response Transmittals (RRT), Customer Satisfaction Notice (CSN))Lead improvement activities in vehicle quality by addressing nonconformity to product quality targets (CPA, VLO, BSR, and TDF performance driven to assigned targets)Support Corporate Quality objectives/deliverables and communicate requirements to all groups involved to ensure goals are achievedCollaborate and lead internal and external resources in order to achieve project/program timingLead teams to identify issues/risks associated with product designs, processes and applications by utilizing FMEA's and other risk assessment toolsCollaborate with Process Quality, Plant PIM/PRM, PPS / Process Engineers to ensure that control plans are implemented and maintained (i.e. Driven by Standards, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans requirements, AM/PM Schedules, measurement/visibility)Partner with Process Quality team to properly map issues/defects within PFS/MCV to ensure vehicles with defects will not escape the plant and defects are identified, measured (trends) and issues are attackedSupport the plant on complex issues from Final, Rolls, BSR, CPA/CTVV (Vehicle Center)PQE Tech Clubs:Assembly plant lead for PQE Tech Clubs within their area of responsibilityCreation and deployment of training for PQE development via Tech Club and other training channelsSharing of lessons learned from reactive, preventative and proactive actions and projectsImplementation of best practices and standards (Read Across) through PQE Tech ClubsProtect product design intent and function while assisting with identification and solutions of manufacturing constraintsEmpowered to escalate product related issues including stopping the line and executing yard holds/PRIs where neededEnsure adherence to all associated standards for proper handling and installation of related componentsManage the implementation of Product/Process Changes through Risk Assessment and station readiness process (PERs, IAAs, CNs and Station Change Management)Perform critical Yard Hold/Product Related Issue (PRI) activities to ensure vehicle quality, mitigation of risks and prompt release of unitsSupport SPW Quality Domain by leading resolution of Quality issuesRequirementsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university (other Engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered)Previous experience in Electrical Wiring and/or Engine Systems: releasing or manufacturingWell versed in both Microsoft and Google applicationsAbility to perform data analysis in order to identify top issues, summarize trends, distinctions, and effectiveness of corrective actions and continuous improvement activitiesEffective presentation/public speaking skills (comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization from hourly employees to senior management)Experience with problem solving toolsAble to demonstrate both coaching and teachingSelf-motivated and directedAbility to thrive in a high intensity environment while working on multiple projectsPreferred Qualifications:Advanced Degree Previous experience in resolving Electrical Wiring issues including root cause, repairs, etcPrevious Manufacturing and/or Quality experience within a Vehicle/Component assembly plantReactive Green Belt / Black Belt Geometrical Design and Tolerances (GD T) understanding to resolve dimensional issues that affects vehicle quality, function, appearance and/or assembly issuesPrevious experience working in a union environment Stellantis Production Way (SPW), preferably in QCS, WO, FI, EEM, EPMAt Stellantis, we assess candidates based on qualifications, merit and business needs.
