Summary:

A Loan Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the loan approval process for clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner. They assist in gathering financial information, completing loan applications, and submitting documentation to lenders for Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial Loans. The Loan Coordinator services the loan and acts as a liaison between clients, lenders, and loan officers to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process.

Job Functions:
  • Assist loan officers in collecting required information/documentation and prepare and compose written correspondence and memos as requested by loan officers.
  • Review and process loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare and review loan documentation for new loans and renewals, including loan agreements and disclosures, to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all loan files are maintained with accuracy and in accordance with regulatory guidelines and internal procedures.
  • Act as the support function to the lending staff to facilitate efficient loan processing, closings and post-closing activities.
  • Maintain collateral and note ticklers for insurance, UCCs, flood certifications, etc., and update the system daily.
  • Process loan payments and maintain accurate payment records.
  • Provide lien and deed releases for paid notes.
  • Perform daily loan maintenance, complete necessary forms, and address any discrepancies or issues in loan applications or documentation.
  • Provide notary services for loan-related documents.
  • Order credit reports, appraisals, comparative market analyses (CMAs), and title commitments as required.
  • Track and resolve exceptions and audit list items to ensure compliance.
  • Scan documents into loan files for accurate record-keeping.
  • Review and send out billing notices in a timely manner.
  • Manage loan participations by providing other banks with their portion of loan payments.
  • Prepare construction draws, advances, and wires for construction loans.
  • Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering client questions and addressing any concerns throughout the loan application process
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a consumer, mortgage, or commercial loan processing or a related role within a financial institution is preferred but not required.
  • Notary preferred or ability to obtain.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of the loan function, operating systems, and related regulatory compliance.
  • Strong computer and application skills and experience with MS Office Suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Consistently completes tasks on time, adheres to schedules, and reliably follows through on commitments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality and customer privacy in all situations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility.
  • Professional demeanor and personal accountability.
  • Ability to be bonded is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
