Purpose of the Job The Regulatory Engineer will develop strategies, with Engineering and Product Management, to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The role plays a critical part in SCC’s product performance and product-line evolution.

Essential Job Responsibilities Regulatory Strategy:

Develop and execute a comprehensive regulatory strategy to support the company's business objectives and product portfolio. Regulatory Leadership:

Provide guidance, training, and support in regulatory compliance activities. Key stakeholders include the Engineering, Quality, and R&D laboratory. Represent the Company externally – ASTM, ANSI, EPA, DOE, UL, Intertek (ETL), NSF, AHRI, and ASHRAE. Compliance Management:

Ensure that all Company products meet applicable regulatory requirements and standards in North America. Develop deep knowledge and expertise in relevant regulatory standards. Represent SCCs position on regulatory matters with government agencies and trade groups. Actively participate in committee meetings. Regulatory Submissions:

Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including applications, registrations, documentation, and notifications, to regulatory authorities. Risk Assessment:

Stay informed on changes in regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices, and report these findings to the key stakeholders. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential regulatory issues and develop mitigation plans. Communication:

Establish and maintain effective communication channels with regulatory agencies, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and requests. Policy Development:

Develop and implement regulatory policies, procedures, and best practices to efficiently maintain compliance. Educate the management team and engineering functions on regulatory matters. New Product Development:

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure regulatory requirements are integrated into product development processes and roadmap.

Qualifications

: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related discipline. Advanced degree a plus Minimum of 7 years industry experience In-depth knowledge of relevant ASTM, ANSI, DOE, EPA, NSF, and UL standards Proven track record of successful regulatory submissions and approvals Strong organizational and written communication skills Proven ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy Proficient in Excel, particularly data summary tools and graphs Fluent in Microsoft Office Tech savvy
