REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

WORK LOCATION: PTK Headquarters, Jackson, MS

DATE: May 3, 2024

OBJECTIVE: Install, secure, and maintain Computer/Network environments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage Windows and Mac based end-user systems through their life cycle, including configuration, deployment, repair, and replacement.

Install hardware and peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on staff computers.

Maintain software used by the organization including licenses, installation, and troubleshooting.

Work with vendors to order equipment and software

Provide hardware and software support to on-site and remote staff.

Maintain an asset management system that contains an up-to-date record of all IT equipment and software.

Work to improve efficiency of processes within the IT department.

Assist in the administration of a Windows environment (i.e. Active Directory) and troubleshoot system failures.

Assist in the administration of Microsoft Exchange 365.

Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and support Windows and Linux based servers.

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support network equipment and resolve connectivity issues.

Ensure security of all organization computers through virus protection, proper backup systems, and training.

Support implementation of the strategic plan

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Associate degree

•1-2 years of experience working on Windows, Mac, and Linux based systems

•Experience with imaging and imaging software

•Basic understanding of Windows domain functionality

•Basic understanding of Microsoft Office 365 deployment and management

•Basic understanding of virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware) platforms

•Basic understanding of wired and wireless networking concepts, protocols, and industry standards

•Professional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

•Self-motivated and willing to assume responsibility for duties without constant supervision

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This work environment is an office-like setting with moderate noise.

  • Physical Exertion : The incumbent may frequently be required to lift approximately 10 pounds and/or occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision : The incumbent must possess close, midrange, distance and peripheral vision; as well as the ability to identify colors, judge distances and adjust focus.
  • Speaking/Hearing : The incumbent must be able to give and receive information through speaking and listening.
  • Motor Coordination : The incumbent in this position is frequently required to: use their hands and reach with their hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to: stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or bend.
