Job Description
The HIM Specialist plays a vital role in the Health Information Management department by performing the daily duties to ensure the quality of the patient's chart is complete and accurate as well as guarantee that all requested information is released to the appropriate personnel.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Prefer anAssociate's in Health Information Management
Experience:
One year of healthcare-related Clerical experience is required.
Education in HIM/HIMT preferred.
Qualifications:
Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent written and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Experience with Electronic Medical Records and image software is preferred
Knowledgeable about HIPAA
Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures required
