Job DescriptionThe Controls Engineer will be part of a Controls team responsible for the ideation, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art automated solutions with a first and best-to-market mindset focused on efficiency, safety, and capacity. They will also work on special projects such as development and improvement.This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division , located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the MES system is functional for production.Work on improvement projects with controls of equipment and MES.Work with Elec Techs in maintenance to ensure uptime.Work with supervisors and other Engineers to problem solve.Other duties as needed to support Rheem manufacturing.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.4+ years of related work experienceExperience with maintenance in a manufacturing environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.Strong computer skillsHow To Stand OutAutomated Mechatronic System Ideation and Design (Electrical and Controls Focus)PLC Programming Design and TroubleshootingSQLFactory Talk Transaction ManagerIgnitionRobotics OEM programming Languages (i.e.., Fanuc, ABB, KuKa)Vision and Perception Prime OEM Experience (i.e., Cognex, Banner, Sick, etc.)Software Design, Simulation, and Emulation (Controls Focused).Support day to day operations using tools of the engineering discipline.Apply various technical problem-solving techniques to evaluate recommended manufacturing improvement strategies and programs 5 Why analysis, 1 x 1 problems solving, MTBF, MTTR, and other Root cause strategies.Clearly and effectively present ideas and problem solutions to department heads and plant management.Analyze operations, processes, and manufacturing sequences to make improvements and reduce operating time and cost.Develop requests for approval of expenditures capital, expense, and purchase requisitions.Robotics Advanced Path Planning and Functionality in Non-Native Languages (i.e., RoS)Vision and Perception Development of Vision Software to Facilitate Robotic Path PlanningIndustrial Electrical LicensureUL Industrial Controls Panel Design and BuildMachine Learning Development and ImplementationMHE (Material Handling Equipment) Specific Logic ControlDistribution and logistics Automation ExperienceAbout UsAt Rheem, we are dedicated to bringing comfort to peoples lives.
