The Engineering Elevated Development Program is designed as 24-month assignment as you prepare to become an Engineer II at the end of the program. During the program you will assist the site Engineering Manager with day-to-day tasks and special projects. The program participants manage and lead their own projects to assist the team in achieving goals.

The Engineering Elevated Development Program is "hosted" by the Global Supply Chain Organizational Development Department and participants are matched with one of our manufacturing facilities in Garland, TX.

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Opportunity to work/lead projects that may include:
    • Capital (CAPEX) projects.
    • Updating the site's process/value stream map
    • Creating and submitting FCAs
    • Continuous Improvement and Cost Savings Projects
    • Project leadership
  • Green Belt Training and Certification
    • Investigation of new plant engineering processes and techniques
    • New installations and facility revisions
  • Developing drawings and specifications for equipment layout
  • Exposure to different areas within the Engineering function: Process, Controls, Robotics, RX, Continuous Improvement, Innovations, and Design
  • Manufacturing operations hands-on experience
  • Mentorship during and after the program
  • Rotating site visits

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in the engineering field from an accredited institution, prior to starting the position.
  • Must be willing to relocate for this position AND upon completion of the program.
  • Must be open to relocate Post Program for the target role.
  • Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
  • Major in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and/or Outlook)
  • Must have prior engineering co-op experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Internship/Co-op experience within Sherwin-Williams.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in the Sherwin-Williams Global Supply Chain Division
  • Leadership experience as demonstrated by your involvement in extracurricular activities on campus or in the community
  • Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
