Job DescriptionCNA 2/Health Unit Coordinator - Medical Surgical Unit at Providence Hood River Memorial Center. This posting represents a .9 FTE, night shift opening (7pm-7:30am, 3, 12-hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends. Lyra Caregiver Assistance program- Up to 25 counseling or coaching sessions per eligible member per year In this position you will: Contribute to a high functioning team Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conference Other duties as assigned The CNA2/HUC is a key person within the nursing unit who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; Collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit and greatly impacts the 'tone' of the unit/shift.Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Your voice matters here, because we know that to inspire and retain the best people, we must empower them.Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training: Training in a recognized health care program or Health care program: 1 year experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare Coursework/Training: Medical terminology course or equivalent educ/experience Coursework/Training: Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or CNA 2 coursework: Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements Upon hire: Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association Experience with a variety of software applicationsPreferred Qualifications: Coursework/Training: One year of post-high school education. Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of Health Unit Coordinator course or Health Unit Coordinator course: Equivalent knowledge Upon hire: National Certification Health Unit Coordinator Experience as a preceptor/role model 1 year Experience as a CNA 2Why Join Providence?
