There are a variety of positions at our parks and lodges that range from skilled technicians to skilled trades. We're hiring a year-round Plumber (Old Faithful area) to Live. Work. Explore. in Yellowstone Job Summary: The Plumber resides in the Old Faithful area in dormitory style housing. Access to and from the Old Faithful location during the winter season is limited to snowcoach or snowmobile. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and employing the technical plumbing skills necessary for the safe operation, repair and maintenance and seasonal opening/closing of Xanterra facilities, equipment and assets. Life in Yellowstone: No Wyoming state taxes deducted from your paycheck Dormitory housing provided for a nominal monthly fee Access to the employee dining room A fast-paced, exciting work environment with plenty of upward mobility and growth opportunities Meet people of all ages from all over the country and world Benefits and Perks: Vacation, Holiday and Sick Leave Health, life and other insurance benefits Free Access to our Employee Recreation Program (hiking, photography, camping, wildlife watching, and more) Discounts in and around Yellowstone Over 1,000 miles of hiking trails inside the park itself Fresh air, breathtaking views, and clear night skies World-class wildlife viewing of bison, elk, moose, wolves, bears, and more Approximately 500 geysers (the largest concentration in the world) and hot springs, including Grand Prismatic, the third largest in the world Responsibilities Perform plumbing assessments, preventative maintenance, and the repair/replacement of new and/or existing plumbing fittings, equipment, and systems Perform, track, and report work associated with corrective and preventive maintenance of structures and equipment, using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and work order logs Use the appropriate tools and materials needed for the completion of work orders in a safe and efficient manner Contribute to a safe, clean, healthy, respectful, and cooperative work environment Communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with a polite demeanor and professional appearance Self-motivated, able to work independently with limited supervision, and willing to occasionally work overtime and/or nights Qualifications Must have a minimum of 2 years of plumbing experience, valid plumbing license is preferred Must be proficient in the troubleshooting, operation, and use of plumbing equipment and tools common to the trade Must be proficient in maintaining and repairing water, sewer, and fuel system components including but not limited to fixtures, piping (above-ground and underground), pumps, water heaters, back-flow prevention devices, and appliances Must be proficient in pipe threading, pro-press, soldering, and acetylene welding Must possess a working knowledge of drawings, plans, plumbing codes, and standards Innovation, professional curiosity, patience, and tenacity when faced with new or perplexing issues Must have general knowledge of OSHA requirements and the use of personal protective equipment Must be able to read, understand and comply with all company policies and procedures Must have the ability to mentor and train less experienced Maintenance staff Physical Requirements May require the use of respiratory protection and compliance with the applicable respiratory protection program regulations May require work in confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces Able to walk up to a half mile over uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, stand, bend, kneel and crawl in all types of weather conditions at elevations exceeding 6,000 ft Capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds Possess physical stamina to perform heavy labor in an outside environment Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, driver's license with a good driving record for the past 3 years We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
