Accountanting Specialist

We are a family-owned and operated company who have been in the lumber industry for over 40 years We have experienced a substantial amount of growth thanks to our amazing and dedicated team and because of this, we are looking to add an Accounting Specialist to our team Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the overall success of our accounting department and the organization as a whole.[The Accounting Specialist will perform accounting and administrative, clerical duties, assisting and communicating with customers, vendors, and employees, shipping and receiving of supplies and products. Handle accounting tasks specific to the sawmill industry. Having knowledge of logs and lumber sales is preferred. **[Duties/Responsibilities:[Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.[Maintain inventory records, reconcile, and investigate discrepancies.[Collaborate with other departments to gather data and provide support for various projects and initiatives.[Provides administrative and clerical support to the department(s).[Creates and completes reports, purchase orders, memoranda, permits and other documents.[Research vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services. Negotiates with vendors as required.[Uses the accounting and other systems to create purchase orders, receive product in, create invoices, receive in payments, and track vendor and item information.[Works with the shipping and logistics department to ship product out in a timely manner.[Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting.[Cross trains to fill in for other staff as needed. * [Required Skills/Abilities:[Ability to adjust to interruptions and adapt to changing priorities.[Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
