JOB SUMMARY
The Oil Hauler is responsible for hauling asphalt concrete from one destination to another utilizing a tanker and semi-trailer. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to driving, hauling, hook-up, loading and unloading oil, maintaining the tanker and trailer, scheduling service, logging time and miles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive the tanker and semi-trailer to make deliveries timely.
Load and unload the tank at designated destinations.
Check the truck and tanker frequently to ensure that mechanical, safety, and equipment is in good working order.
Maintain logs of working and driving hours.
Record vehicle service and repair activities.
Ensure that the oil is secure for transport.
Adhere to the supplier and vendor loading and unloading regulations.
Fuel the semi/ trailer truck as needed.
Perform pre-trip inspections on equipment and daily maintenance as necessary.
Provide a high level of customer service to suppliers and vendors.
Follow appropriate company safety procedures for transporting.
Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Based on the essential duties listed above, this position is considered safety-sensitive and therefore all work must be performed in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
Class A Commercial Driver's License without restrictions and tanker endorsement is required.
A clean driving record is required.
Must be at least 18-years of age.
Prior over the road driving experience is required.
Experience keeping driving logs is preferred.
Experience in oil hauling is beneficial.
The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and adhere to subjected to random tests for the duration of employment is required.
A valid driver's license and ability to be covered under the Company's automobile insurance is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of over the road driving and logging requirements.
Knowledge of supplier and vendor loading and off-loading requirements.
Familiarity with semi-tractor trailer and tanker.
Knowledge of good safety practices including safe worksite and lifting practices.
Proficiency in driving a tractor and trailer.
Skilled in keeping accurate records of receipts, logs, fuel, and time.
The ability to deliver and transport product in a timely manner.
The ability to concentrate and remain alert for long periods of time.
The ability to work in a constant state of awareness/alertness and in a safe manner.
The ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
The ability to manage one's own time and complete required job duties on time.
The ability to drive a motor vehicle and input/follow GPS directions.
The ability to read, comprehend, and follow detailed instructions.
The ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and other individuals in-person and over the phone.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Oil Hauler will be expected to frequently interact with coworkers, customers, suppliers, and vendors.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are regularly performed in a vehicle, but the position will be exposed to an unregulated climate.
Occasionally, the outdoor conditions may reach temperatures of 100 degrees or more for more than one hour, or 30 degrees or less for more than one hour. This position may occasionally be exposed to load noises, vibration, fumes, and grease/oil hazards. The work pace can be very fast during deadlines and peak periods of the day, week, or month. Work hours may vary depending on the operational needs of the department, and evening, weekend, and overnight work may be occasionally required. Flexibility to work overtime as necessary is required.
