About the CT Technologist Position:

Job Summary: The CT Technologist is responsible for operating computed tomography equipment to obtain diagnostic images of patients' internal structures for medical interpretation. They work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
  • Explain procedures to patients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their comfort.
  • Position and immobilize patients as needed for optimal imaging results.
Equipment Operation:
  • Operate CT scanners and associated equipment to capture detailed images.
  • Adjust scanning parameters based on the specific diagnostic requirements.
Image Quality Assurance:
  • Monitor and evaluate image quality to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain equipment functionality.
Radiation Safety:
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ensure proper shielding for patients and staff.
  • Minimize radiation exposure while maintaining high-quality images.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, documenting relevant information.
  • Record details of equipment maintenance and report any issues promptly.
Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and patient conditions.
  • Assist in the development of imaging protocols.

CT Technologist Qualifications:
  • ARRT Certification
  • Associate's degree in Radiography
  • New York State License
  • Previous experience in CT Technology preferred
