About Us

Peace Hospital, part of UofL Health, is a private, non-profit behavioral health hospital. One of the largest behavioral health facilities in the nation, Peace Hospital is known for providing care for children, adolescents, adults and senior adults, age 55 and older.

Its Kosair Charities Childrens Peace Center is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of youth inpatient behavioral health services in the country. The hospital was the nations first behavioral health care center to open a retail pharmacist operated, long-acting injection clinic. The clinic was established to help people adhere to prescribed medications for behavioral health conditions, such as substance use and psychotic disorders.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing therapeutic recreational assessments, recommendations for therapeutic interventions and carrying out general and specialized activity therapy interventions and programs in assigned treatment areas. This role provides direct patient care to older adults.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation, or related field and minimum one year experience providing direct individual or group therapeutic services required.

Or

  • Certified recreation therapist.

Or

  • 5 years direct care experience in Activity Therapy and HSD.

Certification:

  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
  • Ablility to complete Safe Crisis Management and perform Safe Crisis Management techniques, required.
