The Pantry Coordinator is responsible for the operations of the corps food pantry, including stocking, coordination/receipt of product donations, filling client food orders, coordinating pantry volunteers, and scheduling of pickups and deliveries

About the role:

  • Manages pantry programs in accordance with The Salvation Army mission, protocol, and procedures and works within food pantry budget.
  • Oversees food pantry operations which includes but is not limited to sorting, storing, displaying and distributing food products and maintaining a current inventory of food on hand.
  • Maintains pantry and storage areas in clean and orderly condition.
  • Ensures food is handled and stored in a manner consistent with applicable TEFAP regulations.
  • Advises the supervisor regarding purchase of items to be distributed, based on inventory and considering clients preferences and needs.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures for food pantry in keeping with schedule established by the supervisor.
  • Trains and supervises volunteers working in pantry.
  • Checks in food pantry clients in accordance with TEFAP data collection requirements. Assists clients with shopping for all groceries, frozen items, produce, personal hygiene items, and pet food (if available).
  • Performs daily checks of freezers to ensure they are running efficiently and proper temperatures are maintained and logs temperatures in freezers and food storage areas.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and timely records, reports, and statistics for food pantry programs.
  • Plans, coordinates and attends food drives and related events benefitting the pantry.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: One year experience in related field

Certifications: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clearance to drive from TSA's insurance carrier helpful
